In Loving Memory of Moppie
1940-2025

Donations made in Moppie’s memory will go toward Blood Cancer United’s (formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - LLS) Pediatric Urgent Need Program that bears her name - Moppie’s Love. Her kindness and generosity will live on in the patients whose lives have benefited from this support.
Moppie's Love
Moppie’s Love was established in honor of Myrna Binder, whose son Jeff was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma at age 12. Jeff endured chemotherapy and other treatments for three years, and during that time Myrna, who goes by the nickname Moppie, began volunteering at the public outpatient clinic. It was Moppie’s compassion for other families and time spent volunteering to give to others that inspired Jeff to find ways to help the families of childhood cancer patients.
Jeff followed through on that desire by joining forces with Blood Cancer United to launch the Urgent Need Program, in partnership with Moppie’s Love. The Binder family’s support through the Urgent Need Program honors Moppie by focusing on pediatric and young adult blood cancer patients, providing them with financial assistance for non-medical expenses including housing, utilities, groceries food, transportation and acute dental work related to treatment. Moppie's generosity now lives on through countless patients and their families to whom this program has touched.
